Protected protein and amino acids for ruminants

Genetic improvement of modern ruminant livestock has increased the importance of providing the correct balance of essential nutrients if targets for production, health and fertility are to be achieved. Imbalances in protein and essential trace minerals can therefore reduce profitability. A supply of both degradable and undegradable protein is essential if production targets are to be achieved. However as performance improves, the requirements for by-pass protein increases significantly.

To satisfy the increasing protein requirements, the by-pass protein supplied must not only be highly digestible but also provide a balanced blend of essential amino acids to complement the supply from other feed ingredients and microbial protein.

MEGALAC

Megalac is a combination of palm fatty acids and calcium. The calcium protects the fatty acids from breaking down in the rumen, so they pass intact to the lower gut for digestion. It is the protection of the energy source from rumen breakdown, combined with the highly digestible nature of the energy supply that explains why Megalac has the highest measured NEL value of any feed ingredient.

Onceaday with Milk

Onceaday with Milk is a uniquely formulated product which has been designed to enhance the feeding value of cow’s milk and to offset some of the deficiencies created by feeding and breeding for high yields and solids content.

It contains the right level of protein and oil along with vitamins and minerals to ensure that when it is mixed with cows milk it maximises performance.

Normally calves are fed 4 litres per day and we recommend 3 litres plus 150kg of Onceaday.
