UFAS Accreditation

UFAS covers the production and delivery of compound feed and feed materials to farms and is based on HACCP principles which has become a central requirement of Food and Feed safety legislation.

The main areas covered under UFAS are:

  • Complaints
  • Internal & external audits
  • Quality control
  • Hygiene inspections
  • Traceability
  • Supplier Audits
  • HACCP

The scheme is audited and certified by an independent certification body at least annually, in accordance with the internationally recognised standard EN45011. This means that the certification body is itself independently assessed every year to ensure that the standard is implemented and administered consistently and fairly.

HACCP AT DEVENISH
Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) is used at Devenish to address physical, biological & chemical hazards as a means of control rather than finished product rejection. It enables us to identify potential feed quality safety hazards, so that key actions (Critical Control Points) can be taken to reduce or eliminate the risk of the hazards being realised. The system is used at all stages of production and preparation including packaging & distribution.
