2nd line Support Analyst

Devenish is seeking an IT Support Analyst (2nd Line) to join our global team.

We are a fast growing, innovative, international agri-food technology business, supplying innovative environmental, animal and human health solutions to the farm, feed and food industry.

The Role

Reporting to the IT Servicedesk Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a person with initiative who is looking for a new challenge that offers career and personal fulfilment. The successful candidate will be a key member of the IT Service Desk.

Key duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Second line IT Support
    • Managing personal ticket list
    • Keeping end users up to date with progress of their tickets
    • Troubleshoot routine issues and escalate where appropriate
    • Software Installs
    • Hardware configuration and support
    • Assist when required to provide 1st line support.
  • Admin Support
    • Creating and maintaining IT Support documentation
    • Provision of hardware & software and raising purchase orders
  • Manage project work.
    • This could include self-driven projects or externally driven projects with IT elements. This may involve providing advice, scoping change requests, assessing current systems, deploying solutions, managing suppliers and managing projects end to end.
  • Collaboration
    • Work alongside 3rd line support to provide effective solutions using Change Management
  • Proactive Maintenance
    • You will be required to proactively monitor the infrastructure and applications, performing root analysis of any significant issues, recommending and supporting improvements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience within a similar role or environment
  • Experience of a fast paced and demanding working environment of mission-critical business systems

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative, work on their own and as part of a team
  • Practical and logical approach to problem-solving with good attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to data and information
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Be capable of and be prepared to travel within the UK & Ireland
  • Full Clean Driving license

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience in some of the following areas would be an advantage for applicants:

  • 3rd level education in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in a fast paced production driven organisation
  • Experience with Designing, modifying, developing and implementing reporting solutions using Crystal Reports.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements for software changes.
  • Experience in a database administration environment.
  • Experience in the management of external third-party service providers.
