3rd line Support Analyst

Devenish is seeking an IT Support Analyst (3rd Line) to join our global team.

We are a fast growing, innovative, international agri-food technology business, supplying innovative environmental, animal and human health solutions to the farm, feed and food industry.

The Role

The ServiceDesk Third Line Support Analyst is part of a team responsible for supporting the day to day needs of the business as well as designing, building, deploying, maintaining and upgrading the IT infrastructure. They are a point of escalation for technical queries from the helpdesk 1st and 2nd Line and maintain a balance between responding to escalated technical support requests and progressing project work. Key duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist the helpdesk team with escalated tickets relating to high level queries, e.g. backup problems, urgent network and device monitoring alarms and researching and implementing solutions to problems
  • Manage project work, e.g. infrastructure projects
  • Types of infrastructure work may involve making changes to existing equipment or deploying new hardware/software and decommissioning old equipment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar role or environment
  • Experience of a fast paced and demanding working environment of mission-critical business systems

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative, work on their own and as part of a team
  • Practical and logical approach to problem-solving with good attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to data and information
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Be capable of and be prepared to travel within the UK & Ireland
  • Full Clean Driving license

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience in some of the following areas would be an advantage for applicants:

  • Experience within a manufacturing organisation where systems include Finance/Admin and Production/Engineering.
  • Previous experience with some or all of the following:
    • Switches and APs (Cisco) and Firewalls (Fortinet)
    • Physical (Dell) or virtual (VMWare) servers
    • ESX hypervisors - advanced usage or deployment
    • Veeam Backup & Replication software - in-depth knowledge or previous deployment
    • AV Management software (McAfee EPO)
    • Network monitoring tools (PRTG, LibreNMS)
    • ERP System (Microsoft Dynamics Nav)
    • Production systems (Siemens WinCC Step 7)
    • Microsoft SQL Server experience – administration, building SQL views, importing/editing critical live data
    • Exchange on premises /Office 365 – experience of troubleshooting and administering
