HR & Payroll Administrator

Based in Belfast, Devenish are a leading provider of environmental, animal and human health solutions and a key influencer in driving health and sustainability throughout the food chain. The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR, NW Europe you will be self-motivated, reliable, highly organised and trustworthy and will play an important role with the HR and Finance teams. The main purpose of this role is to ensure various payrolls are processed efficiently within a timely manner.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience or further your knowledge in a HR, Payroll and Finance role.

Payroll Coordination:

  • Check, query, calculate and accurately input timesheet data to ensure that the payees across weekly payrolls are accurately paid.
  • Calculate and input pay in accordance with appropriate schemes and statutory regulations.
  • Check that all documentation received is properly authorised.
  • Producing payroll related reports and financial journals.
  • Benefit changes for weekly paid in line with onboarding info
  • Ensure filing, retention and disposal of material is compliant with all relevant statutes and policies.
  • Administration of pension on weekly payrolls
  • Support the Payroll /HR with annual audit requirements
  • Provide Senior Management with accurate pay data promptly, often at short notice.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as Operations, Finance and HR to ensure accurate processing.
  • Support on monthly payrolls (UK & international) as and when required

HR Compliance:

  • Assisting the HR team with the collation and submission for all NI Equality reports
  • Assist the HR team to maintain the HR System in line with Payroll System information
  • Communicate training opportunities to employees in line with business requirements and needs
  • Assist with coordinating training events and schedule participants in to training programs (internal and external)
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Track, monitor and report on training outcomes

Finance:

  • Processing employee expenses. Checking each individual claim to ensure claims are in line with current expenses policy and ensure that VAT is accounted for correctly.
  • Ensure claims are processed within company set timeframes.

Essential Criteria:

  • CIPD/CIPP Level 3 qualification or relevant experience in a HR/Payroll environment
  • GCSE English and Maths minimum grade C or above
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft apps and good ICT skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to data and information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive working relationships and work collaboratively with others
  • Flexible and adaptable

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Statutory Legislation relating to payroll or HR, e.g., SSP, SMP, SPP
  • Working knowledge of Sage Payroll
