Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager (Maternity Cover)

Based in Belfast, we are a leading provider of environmental, animal and human health solutions and a key influencer in driving health and sustainability throughout the food chain. Devenish has four manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australasia, Latin America, and the USA. This role will support a Devenish joint venture called Humanativ.

The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (Humanativ), the successful candidate will work will be responsible for directing operations to ensure regulatory compliance of our products in current and future markets including domestic and international markets. They will also ensure that Quality Systems employed in the sourcing, production, sale and delivery of our goods comply with accredited standards and our customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the preparation and submission of product ranges specific to the export country or region.
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, product registrations, renewals, reports, or correspondence.
  • Review all regulatory agency submission materials to ensure timeliness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, or compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage activities such as scheme audits, regulatory agency inspections, or product recalls.
  • Formulate, implement, and review regulatory and quality policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained or enhanced.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations, assurance scheme standards including proposed and final rules.

The role encompasses the full range of Quality and Regulatory needs associated with a global, expanding business, including:

  • Complete and arrange relevant documentation to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations and standards.
  • Review materials such as marketing literature or user manuals to ensure that regulatory authority and assurance scheme requirements are met.
  • Communicate regulatory information to multiple departments and ensure that information is interpreted correctly.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to departments or development project teams regarding design, development, evaluation, or marketing of products.
  • Investigate product complaints and prepare documentation and submissions to appropriate regulatory agencies as necessary.

Flexible working arrangements are available, including working from home. Travel for meetings and flexibility will be required.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an international product registration's role
  • Numerical accuracy skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Full driving licence and access to a car
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Desirable Criteria:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in international quality systems
  • Previous manufacturing experience in agricultural, food or pharmaceutical companies
