Service Desk Administrator – First Line Support

Devenish Nutrition is a fast growing, innovative, international agri-food technology business, supplying innovative environmental, animal and human health solutions to the farm, feed and food industry internationally. Headquartered in Belfast, Devenish have five manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Mexico and the USA.

The Role

The IT Service Desk is an integral part of the Devenish business and acts as the gateway for users to engage with the IT department. Reporting to the IT Servicedesk Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a person with initiative who is looking for a new challenge that offers career and personal fulfilment.

Key duties include:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Ticket Logging
    • First point of contact within the department
    • Gathering enough information to log tickets
    • Assessing priority of queries
  • First Line IT Support
    • Managing personal ticket list
    • Keeping end users up to date with progress of their tickets
    • Troubleshoot routine issues and escalate where appropriate
    • Software Installs
    • Hardware configuration and support
  • Account Management
    • Managing the onboarding & offboarding process
    • Managing general account queries
    • Management of equipment allocation
  • Procurement
    • Scoping/agreeing requirements
    • Raising purchase orders
    • Liaising with suppliers
  • Admin Support
    • Creating and maintaining IT Support documentation

Essential Criteria:

  • 1 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Work well with autonomy and as part of a team
  • Practical and logical approach to problem solving
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Be capable and prepared to travel within the UK & Ireland
  • Be prepared to be part of an on-call rota
  • Ability to work and perform under pressure
  • Full driving license and access to a car

Desirable Criteria:

  • 3rd level education in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced production driven organisation
