Site Production Supervisor

A vacancy has arisen for a Site Production Supervisor at the Dishforth Site on a permanent contract. Reporting to the Site Manager the Site Production Supervisor will primarily be responsible for the coordination of production for our Dishforth site. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, results-driven person with a professional manner.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Safety – helping to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of employees
  • Workforce planning – recruitment, absence and holiday cover, training
  • Delivery – Achieving 'On Time Delivery' targets
  • Quality – ensuring all products are manufactured to the correct standards
  • Standards – Maintaining working standards, supporting Continuous Improvement and Lean projects, and ensuring hygiene is at a high level

Key duties include:

  • Site wide SOPs training, keeping all training records up to date
  • Creating a Lean and Continuous Improvement culture
  • People Management including recruitment, induction and training, performance management, grievance investigations and disciplinaries
  • Absence and timekeeping management
  • KPI setting for Production, Team and Individuals
  • Assist with implementation of Business Central – a new software system
  • Ensuring H&S, quality, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance are maintained as required
  • Creating a positive, supportive work environment
  • Being available on call to assist with night shift queries

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous Managerial or Supervisory experience with good people management and leadership skills
  • Confident decision-making, self-starter attitude
  • Hands on experience with mechanical know how
  • Ability to work in a demanding and challenging fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated with sound business judgement
  • Strategic, logical thinker with strong analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Good IT skills and experience of operation systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to Multi-task and Plan Ahead
  • A Positive and Professional attitude
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be open to development
