Apprentice Engineer

Based in Belfast, we are a leading provider of environmental, animal and human health solutions and a key influencer in driving health and sustainability throughout the food chain., Devenish have 5 manufacturing sites in the UK and four in the United States, from where they supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to producers through the farm, feed and food industry in UK, Ireland, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australasia, Latin America and the USA.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to take their first step in a Maintenance / Engineering career within a Manufacturing and Warehousing facilities.

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, highly motivated, and enthusiastic. You will gain on the job training with our in-house training facilities and work alongside experienced Engineers and develop skills within:

• Mechanical and electrical applications and solutions
• Planned preventative maintenance
• Manufacturing operations
• Engineering Assembly Methods and Techniques
• Robotics
• Process Control Systems
• Food and Feed Safety
• Health and Safety

In return, our Apprenticeship programme will help the successful applicant gain a nationally recognised qualification in Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering alongside gaining technical and practical skills.

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of 4 GCSE's at Grade C or above including Maths and one other STEM subject
• Computer literate and confident using Microsoft Office packages e.g. Excel
• Organised and methodical
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to attend a day release college course from September 2022
• Ability to work as a strong team player.
• Positive and professional attitude with willingness to learn new roles.
• Flexible and adaptable

Desirable Criteria:

• GCSE Grade A-C in ICT (or equivalent)
• Demonstratable Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance skills
• Relevant experience within manufacturing industry
• Full driving licence and access to a car
